Two powerful word proofing tools are now available for the Newton platform. Merlin 1.1 provides fast spell checking of any text and WordSleuth 1.1 transforms your Newton into a mobile thesaurus.

MERLIN 1.1: Newton Spelling Checker

Merlin allows you to quickly verify the correct spelling of over 120,000 commonly (and not so commonly) used words. Whether it is a singularly selected word, notepad memo or email message Merlin will check its correctness and provide a list of alternatives for incorrect spellings.
Merlin augments the Newton's built-in dictionaries with its own additional dictionaries to provide lightning fast proofing of text. "The Newton's word list alone is not enough to provide effective spell checking" states Clinton Logan, LandWare's technical director, "and this prompted us to build Merlin around an extendible architecture that utilizes optionally installable dictionaries."
Merlin also allows you to maintain user dictionaries for words that are not in the main dictionaries, such as technical terms, acronyms and names.

WORDSLEUTH 1.1: Thesaurus


	WordSleuth provides a powerful aid for improving the precision and variety of your writing be it a memo, fax, or crossword. With over 210,000 synonyms at your fingertips WordSleuth ensures the right word is always a single tap away.
