Overview

Plug-in modules provide a secondary level of expanding proCALC Ex's functionality. Plug-in modules provide pre-programmed solutions and have the additional facility of providing customized interfaces.
proCALC Ex is supplied with a finance and statistics module. The statistics module is a special case in that it is integrated into the proCALC package and cannot be separated from it. The Finance package like all other plug-in modules is optionally installable.

You can either choose from an increasing number of plug-in solutions or develop your own with the proCALC plug-in toolkit which is available separately.

Installing a module

Installing a proCALC plug-in module is no different from installing any other Newton software. Simply download the module from your Mac or PC using your connection software.
The module will then be available when the proCALC XFCN function is executed.

Activating a module

Plug-in modules once installed can easily be activated:
1. Execute the XTFN function.

2. Select the plug-in module from the resulting pop-up menu
3. The selected module will then be activated and the proCALC interface will be altered accordingly.
The selected module will remain active until another is selected or it is removed from your Newton PDA.
